Duke Electric Vehicles

We were founded over 10 years ago to compete in the annual Shell Eco-Marathon. Today, our vehicle can drive 8.5 miles on less than one gram of hydrogen. To put that in another perspective, it means being able to drive anywhere on the globe using the energy in a gallon of gas. In 2019, our vehicle, Eta, reached 797 mi/kWh. This is 175 times as efficient of a Tesla. Our home is at Duke University, where our mission is to enable more sustainable transport by inventing future electric vehicle technologies. We're a student run organization that uses creative engineering to engage and inspire progress in electric mobility. Model 3.

Duke Motorsports

Duke University Motorsports provides one of the most hands-on and iterative engineering design project experiences to complement a rigorous engineering undergraduate curriculum. Based out of Duke's Pratt School of Engineering, students work year round to design, build, and test an open wheel formula style race car. The skills developed, both technical and interpersonal, prepare students to be active leaders and problem-solvers. Each year, the team represents Duke Engineering at FSAE Michigan, where universities gather to compete, network, and showcase their hard work.
